Verse of the Day

As we begin this next season of our publishing journey and are short on content, we will be sharing Verse of the Day devotions until we have enough article submissions to fill our editorial calendar. We hope you enjoy them! ~ Janel the CWP Editor-in-Chief

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”

— Isaiah 43:2 NIV

Notice what God does not say. He does not say you won't go through deep water. He says: When you pass through... I will be with you.

That makes the difference.

Faith isn't pretending that difficult things won't happen. It's not looking the other way. Or running away. Hope is discovering that difficulty does not have the power to abandon you. Even when you feel alone.

If you're in deep water today, you don't have to explain why. Just remember: You are not crossing it alone. God is a breath away, even when it doesn't feel like it.
