The September 2026 Prayer
Sep 02, 2026
Dear God,
Scripture tells us each day is a new opportunity to experience Your unfailing love, joy, and great faithfulness. That we can bring our burdens to You because nothing is impossible for You. There is comfort in that knowledge, but I’m struggling to convince myself that I can trust the power of who You are.
King David wrestled with all of his human emotions in the Psalms. He asked You the big, raw questions and You always revealed Yourself. Lord, I’ve got some pretty big feelings today. I’d love for You to meet me too.
You know my thoughts, my struggles, when I wake, how I toss and turn at night. You know how hard I’ve tried to understand Your will for my life, to hear, to wait, to stay, to go, to do. And even when to rest and be. I’ve always wanted more of You. To be closer to You.
Right now, I can’t find You in the places I need You. There’s no clarity or peace or direction. There’s only silence. I’m seeking You, but I’m not finding You. It hurts.
Yes, I see You in the trees, in the beauty of sunrise, the roar of the ocean waves, and in the tiny bees bouncing from flower to flower gathering the very last bit of sustenance before night falls. You are everywhere; but You don’t feel here in my pain. It doesn’t feel like it should be this way. Because You promised to be with me always. You feel miles away.
Lord, I pray for Your comfort and grace to see me through. I know You will. Hopefully, I’ll be able to understand why it took so long. And then my joy will be complete.
Amen.
