When Mary reached the place where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet and said, "Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died."
When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. “Where have you laid him?” he asked.
“Come and see, Lord,” they replied.
Jesus wept.

Mary had questions.
Jesus did not correct her for asking them. He knew what was coming. He also knew resurrection was ahead.
And still— Jesus wept.
Knowing that something good may eventually come the unexpected or painful does not make grief unnecessary. Hope and sorrow can exist in the same room. Faith and disappointment can exist in the same prayer.
You don't have to rush past your grief to prove that you trust God. Jesus himself stopped and wept. We should too.
