Prayers of Hope Podcast
Episode #3 - September 2026
Hello!
Welcome to Prayers of Hope.
I'm Janel Guevara with the Christian Woman's Page magazine.
Our mission is to inspire, renew, and nurture hope in women who have lost it.
Hope deferred makes a heart sick.
You can find us at christianwomanspage.com.
Let's pray…
Dear Lord, we thank you for another day.
I thank you for the beautiful sisters
who are gathered to pray.
I thank you that you brought them here.
And I know you'll bless them, and I thank you for that.
Lord, we thank you for the beauty in the sky,
on the land,
in our community.
We thank you for the past season of flowers that were just gorgeous.
The northern hemisphere is in autumn.
With the leaves falling.
And I thank you that it has its own beauty even in
The death and the pause in the winter that comes.
But Lord, I thank you for harvest.
And I thank you for the harvest of the souls.
That you see us.
That we meet
The people who are having a rough day.
That all it takes is a smile to say I see you.
Lord, when we meet someone who is discouraged.
Lord, sometimes that harvest…
is touching their heart and letting them know that there is hope.
I don't know, I think sometimes that we go too deep.
You know, as somebody… you know you have made me to be someone who likes to dig deep and learn… learn it all, and…
understand things at the very, very simplest level.
But sometimes I think.
The simplest.
The simplest harvest comes from just planting a seed.
I used to be
sad that I couldn't do more when I was younger, but I'm not anymore.
I've come to make peace with I am not a soul winner.
I'm a hope bringer.
And on one hand, that's an easier job.
On the other hand.
It's a very different job.
Lord help us today
to sit down and understand.
The harvest that you
called us to, each of us individually.
Whether it's hope, whether it's support, whatever it is.
winning souls for Christ, whether it's just connecting and being present and being the…
The one there.
In the temple, burning the oil, lighting the candles, saying the prayers.
You've given each of us a job.
You know, when I was a younger Christian, I remember hearing stories of missionaries, and it's like, wow, why couldn't I go do something like that?
But that's not your job for me.
But understanding your mission for my life has been…
Frustrating, but beautiful.
But you and I both know where that journey has led.
But Lord, I know there are women out there listening right now.
Who is… who are very much still in that struggle of, who am I? What do you want me to do? Where am I… where is my calling? Where is my heart? Where is my…
Lord, I pray for those women right now.
Right now.
I ask that you reach down.
Give them a nudge.
And offer them a direction.
For some of them, Lord, we know, I know, that it's not gonna be what they think it is.
But Lord, that's okay, and I thank you that you see us differently.
that you have.
You have a plan for each of our lives.
And that is so beautiful.
Even when we don't understand it.
When we can't see it. When we're stuck in the middle of it.
Right where we need to be and can't see the forest for the trees.
And that's where our faith comes in.
Being there, in the middle, in the center of your will.
And even if it doesn't look like what we think it should look like.
It's right where we need to be.
Lord, help us make peace with that if we're struggling with it.
Show us. Open our eyes.
Touch our heart.
Help us to see and understand.
The harvest that you want us to reap.
Looks different for each of us.
But Lord, I thank you that.
You are gracious.
And you are mighty, and you…
May all things work together for those who love you.
Even if the path is one we never anticipated walking.
Lord, give us enough grace for this day.
Some days that grace needs to be so much deeper.
So much wider, so much fuller.
And Lord, if that's one of those days for any woman listening.
Any woman out there praying with…
With me right now.
Lord, I pray you just…
Give it to her.
By the bucketful.
Hold her hand.
And meet her exactly where she needs to be.
I don't know if it needs to be a phone call.
or a realization.
Or a letter in the mail.
The Lord you know.
Encourage her to keep going.
to keep moving forward.
Bathe her in your grace, Lord.
And I thank you that you have done that for each of us.
And I thank you that you will do it again.
And again, and again. And Lord, we're going to keep asking.
And we just thank you.
that you will do a good work in us, that you ARE doing good works in us.
And Lord, if we're in a season.
For the women who are in a season who aren't able.
Lord, give them the grace to understand it.
Show them that you are big and mighty.
And you are working through them.
Even when they can't see it.
Lord, I thank you for another day. I thank you for this time, for this opportunity, for this moment.
That we can share and we can come before you.
To praise you.
And seek you.
and connect with you.
And I pray these things in Jesus’ name.
Amen.
